Abstract:
A space-saving and energy-saving elevator, comprising a load-bearing wheel (1), and a left auxiliary wheel (2) and a right auxiliary wheel (3) provided at left and right sides thereof. A left cab (4) and a right cab (5) having an equal weight are provided at two sides of the left auxiliary wheel (2) and the right auxiliary wheel (3). The elevator further comprises a steel cable (6) passing around the load-bearing wheel (1), the left auxiliary wheel (2), and the right auxiliary wheel (3), respectively, and the two ends of the steel cable (6) are connected to and fastened to the left cab (4) and the right cab (5), respectively, so as to achieve equal weights at the two ends of the steel cable (6). The elevator further comprises a drive mechanism driving the steel cable (6). The technical solution provides a single elevator system running two elevator cabs, is energy saving and environmentally friendly, and is particularly useful in structures having only a few storeys, high ceiling heights, and high passenger traffic, such as an airport terminal or a high-speed railway station.
