Abstract:
Provided is a spark-ignition internal combustion engine in which a raised portion (31) comprising an intake-side inclined surface (34) and an exhaust-side inclined surface (35) is provided to the top face (10) of the piston (5), and a cavity (40) is provided on the raised portion (31) in a position that corresponds to the spark plug, wherein the intake-side inclined surface (34) and the exhaust-side inclined surface (35) are formed such that the inclination angle of the exhaust-side inclined surface (35) is smaller than the inclination angle of the intake-side inclined surface (34), and such that the difference between the inclination angles of the intake-side inclined surface (34) and the exhaust-side inclined surface (35) is 4 degrees or larger.
