Title:
SPARK PLUG
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/141293
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This spark plug can ensure the airtightness of a combustion chamber while ensuring voltage resistance between a high voltage electrode and a floating electrode. The spark plug comprises: a first tubular insulation member that includes a first hole extending from the rear end toward the front end and a second hole extending from the front end toward the rear end, and that has a first stepped portion forming an annular shape around the outer circumference and decreasing in the diameter from the rear end to the front end; a first electrode the front end of which is provided in the first hole of the first insulation member; a second electrode the rear end of which is provided in the second hole of the first insulation member, and that has an opposing portion facing the first electrode in the direction perpendicular to the axial line in the first insulation member; a second insulation member that is disposed between the first electrode and the opposing portion; tubular main metal fittings that are disposed around the outer circumference of the first insulation member and that have an annular second stepped portion with the inner circumference thereof brought into contact with the first stepped portion; and a ground electrode that is fixed to the front end of the main metal fittings to form a gap with the second electrode. The opposing portion is positioned further rearward than the rear end of the first stepped portion.
