Abstract:
Provided is a spark plug having a tip more resistant to detachment. In a cross section that includes the center axis of the tip, the interface between a welded part and the tip is provided with: first sections that, as the first sections become more distant from the center axis, gradually become distant in a direction parallel to the center axis from an imaginary straight line orthogonal to the center axis and located further toward a second electrode side than the interface; second sections that gradually approach the imaginary straight line as the second sections become more distant from the center axis in the direction parallel to the center axis; and bottom points that connect the first sections and the second sections. The bottom points are located at positions most distant from the imaginary straight line in a direction parallel to the center axis among the first sections and the second sections. At least one of each of the first sections, the second sections and the bottom points exist on one side of the cross section when divided into two sides by the center axis. The bottom points exist at positions satisfying 0.1≤X/W≤0.4, where W is the length of the interface in a direction orthogonal to the center axis and X is the distance between the bottom points and the center axis.
