Abstract:
A speaker unit and a portable information terminal which are small-sized, thin, and output sound having high sound pressure. The speaker unit comprises: a yoke (1) having a rectangular outer shape in a plan view; a magnet member (2) provided on the yoke (1) and magnetized in such a manner that an N pole and S poles are arranged in one direction on the upper surface of the magnetic member; a coil (3) provided above the upper surface of the magnetic member (2) with a space therebetween; a vibration plate (4) mounted to the coil (3); and a frame (5) for supporting the vibration plate (4). Among the sides defining the rectangular outer shape of the yoke (1), the sides extending along the aforementioned direction are provided with engaging projections (7) for engaging the frame (5) and the yoke (1) with each other.
