Abstract:
A specified color area demarcation circuit (6) has a luminance information (histogram) acquisition unit (3) for a plurality of pixels and a luminance information (histogram) analysis unit (5) for a plurality of pixels. The luminance information (histogram) acquisition unit (3) for a plurality of pixels acquires information about the luminances of a plurality of pixels in an input image. In order to acquire the information about the luminances of a plurality of pixels the luminance information acquisition unit (3) creates, for example, a histogram of the luminances indicating the frequency. As an example of the histogram, an image of 0 to 255 levels of gray is divided by thirty-two (0-7, 8-15, ... 240-247, and 248-255) and the number of pixels which are present in each of the divided levels of gray (luminance (Y)) is counted. In order to extract the feature value of the information about the luminances of the plurality of pixels in the input image, the luminance information analysis unit (5) analyzes, for example, the histogram about the luminance values of the plurality of pixels to extract the feature value representing the feature of the histogram. On the basis of the feature value, the luminance information analysis unit (5) obtains the factor to demarcate the specified color area. It is thereby possible to display an image of the specified color area with high precision.
