Disclosed are a speech recognition service provision method and a speech recognition apparatus, wherein the speech recognition apparatus and a server can communicate with each other in a 5G communication environment by executing an onboard artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm and/or machine learning algorithm to perform speech recognition. The speech recognition service provision method and speech recognition apparatus provide a response, based on user intention analysis, to a user's ambiguous speech.
