Abstract:
A speed changing device (1) comprises: a segment (160) which rotates integrally with a shift drum (130); and a segment pressing member (171) which is pressed against a segment cam portion (161) of the segment (160) by means of a segment urging spring (172). The segment cam portion is formed such that a maximum value of a rotational resistance force imparted to the shift drum by an elastic force of the segment urging spring in an intermediate rotation angle region (ΔθN) when shifting down from an n+1th gear to an nth gear is greater than the maximum value of the rotational resistance force imparted to the shift drum by the elastic force of the segment urging spring in the intermediate rotation angle region when shifting up from the nth gear to the n+1th gear. As a result of the shift drum accepting the rotational resistance force resulting from the elastic force of the segment urging spring when shifting down from the n+1th gear to the nth gear, a rotation angle of the shift drum is temporarily held in the intermediate rotation angle region.
