Abstract:
The speed of an object is measured at low cost. A speed measuring device is provided with a TV camera (11) for capturing an image of a blood cell, a strobe (12) for applying light into an image capturing range of the TV camera (11) for a period of time shorter than the exposure time of one frame of the TV camera (11) in each frame, a timing controlling unit (14) for controlling light emission of the strobe (12) in such a manner that the time interval between light emission timings between two consecutive frames is shorter than the exposure time of one frame and that the light emission state occurs once in each frame, and a calculation processing unit (151) for finding the travel distance of the blood cell from two images obtained in the two frames and calculating the speed of the blood cell from the travel distance and the time interval between light emission timings between the two frames.
