Abstract:
A speed reducer 10 of one embodiment comprises: a carrier 11; a first case 20 that surrounds an outer peripheral surface of the carrier 11 located between both end surfaces of the carrier 11, and is relatively rotatably held by the carrier 11 between the both end surfaces of the carrier 11; a second case 30 that surrounds the outer peripheral surface of the carrier 11, and is relatively rotatably held by the carrier 11 at a position different from the position at which the first case 20 is held between the both end surfaces of the carrier 11; a first reduction part 40 including a first input part which is held by the carrier 11 and to which a rotation is input from a first side FS facing one of the both end surfaces of the carrier 11; and a second reduction part 50 including a second input part which is held by the carrier 11 and to which a rotation is input from a second side SS facing the other end surface of the both end surfaces of the carrier 11.
