Abstract:
This speed reducer is provided with: a first bearing mounted to a support member; an output member supported by the first bearing and rotating about a first rotation axis; an internal gear connected to the output member and rotating with the output member about the first rotation axis; a second bearing mounted to the support member radially outside the first bearing; and a pinion gear which is supported by the second bearing, rotates about a second rotation axis different from the first rotation axis, and meshes with the internal gear. At least part of the second bearing is located closer to the internal gear than a plane which passes through the far end of the first bearing relative to the internal gear in an axial direction parallel to the second rotation axis and which is perpendicular to the second rotation axis.
