Abstract:
An automatic centering type spherical ball bearing. Since a conventional spherical bearing acts through a sliding contact, it has a low lifetime, low wear resistance, high revolution friction, low accuracy and the like as disadvantages. This spherical ball bearing eliminates such disadvantages and has features (a) a plurality of balls (4) as rollers retained by a non-elastic retainer (3) or an elastic retainer (6) of plastics or the like between a spherical inner race (1) and outer race (2) and (b) a retaining ring (5) for preventing the removal of the retainer (3) or (6). When this bearing is used shaft is press-fitted while retaining the inner race (1) by a jig or the like, and the outer race (2) may be press-fitted into a housing. Thus, the bearing can rotate spherically and radially.
