Abstract:
A spherical graphite used for lithium batteries and a preparation method therefor: first, employing a combination of primary crushing, fine crushing and shaping to produce spherical graphite for which D50 is 13-25 μm; then employing a combination of ultra-micro primary crushing, ultra-micro fine crushing and shaping to use tailings produced from the spherical graphite for which D50 is 13-25 μm for the first time to produce spherical graphite having a small particle diameter for which D50 is 3-12 μm. The utilization rate of graphite raw materials has been increased by 25%-35%, and the described method may simultaneously prepare spherical graphite for which D50 is 13-25 μm and 3-12 μm, which meets requirements in the lithium battery industry for spherical graphite having different particle sizes D50. Alternatively, the method employs a combination of primary crushing, fine crushing, ultra-micro primary crushing, ultra-micro fine crushing and shaping to directly use raw materials for the first time to prepare spherical graphite having a small particle diameter for which D50 is 3-12 μm, thus meeting usage requirements of rate batteries and high-end lithium batteries for negative electrode materials. The prepared spherical graphite has good roundness, uniform particle size distribution and high tap density.
