Abstract:
This spin current magnetization reversal element is provided with: a ferromagnetic metal layer; and a spin orbital torque wiring extending in a first direction that intersects the lamination direction of the ferromagnetic metal layer, and is joined to the ferromagnetic metal layer side. The orientation of the spin injected in the ferromagnetic metal layer from the spin orbital torque wiring intersects with respect to the orientation of the magnetization of the ferromagnetic metal layer. The ferromagnetic metal layer has shape anisotropy, and has distribution of a demagnetizing field according to the shape anisotropy. The distribution of the demagnetizing field generates an easy magnetization reversal direction for which the magnetization of the ferromagnetic metal layer most easily undergoes magnetization reversal, and the easy magnetization reversal direction intersects with the first direction in plan view from the lamination direction.
