Abstract:
A splicing apparatus (10) is provided with: first detection units (53a, 53b) for detecting whether a component storage unit (100a) is projecting below a transport reference surface (60a1); second detection units (54a, 54b) for detecting the component storage unit (100a) for a paper tape (100Y); a determination unit (step S106) for determining, on the basis of the detection signal of the first detection units (53a, 53b), whether a tape inserted in the splicing apparatus (10) is embossed tape (100X) or paper tape (100Y); a first calculation unit (step S110) that, when the tape is determined to be embossed tape (100X), calculates the pitch of the component storage unit (100a) for the embossed tape (100X) using the first detection units (53a, 53b); and a second calculation unit (step S114) that, when the tape is determined to be paper tape (100Y), calculates the pitch of the component storage unit (100a) for the paper tape (100Y) using the second detection units (54a, 54b).
