Abstract:
A spray dampener which supplies an appropriate amount of effective sprays to a dampening roller by controlling, by means of blocking plates, dampening water sprays continuously discharged from a nozzle, which leads excessive sprays to outside an effective spray region, and in which the effective sprays are not disturbed. A first spray blocking plate (5) and a second spray blocking plate (6) are arranged between a dampening roller (R) and spray nozzles (4) so as to face the spray nozzles (4) and so as to extend in the longitudinal direction of the dampening roller. The distance between the two blocking plates defines the top-bottom spray width relative to the direction of rotation of the dampening roller. An edge (5a) of the first spray blocking plate is located on the spray nozzle side from the positions at which lateral effective sprays of dampening water discharged from the nozzles intersect with each other, and an appropriate amount of the dampening water is supplied to the dampening roller on the basis of each spray nozzle or of each ink key.
