Abstract:
Disclosed is a spray dampener wherein mist of dampening water in the housing is prevented from leaking to the outside of the housing, and intrusion of foreign matter such as ink mist from the outside of the housing into the inside is prevented.  In a housing (6) which opens toward a dampening water roller, spray nozzles (5) for spraying dampening  water to the dampening water roller (1) are housed while being juxtaposed in the longitudinal direction of the dampening water roller (1), an upstream side partition (18) and a downstream side partition (19) each having an opening (24) facing the surface of the dampening  water roller are provided at the upstream end and the downstream end of the opening of the housing, and the partitions are provided, respectively, with drain holes (22, 23) leading to the interior of the housing.  Since the partition captures and liquefies mist effectively, circulation of mist on the inside and outside of the housing can be minimized effectively.
