Title:
SPRAY IONIZATION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/157142
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided by the present disclosure is a spray ionization device comprising: a first tube 21 that has a first flow path 23 through which a liquid can flow and a first outlet 21a on one end thereof from which the liquid is sprayed; a second tube 22 that surrounds the first tube with a gap therebetween, has a second flow path 24 through which a gas can flow, and has a second outlet 22a on the one end thereof, the second flow path being defined by the outer circumferential surface of the first tube and the inner circumferential surface of the second tube; and an electrode 18 that extends through the interior of the first flow path of the first tube, from the other end thereof to the one end, said electrode being arranged such that the tip thereof is at the same position as the first outlet or is further on the other end side than the first outlet, and said electrode being able to apply a voltage to the liquid by means of a power source connected to the electrode. At the one end, the second outlet is disposed further toward a tip end than the first outlet; at least part of the inner circumferential surface 22b of the second tube gradually narrows in diameter toward the second outlet; the inner circumferential surface of the second outlet has a diameter equal to or greater than the diameter of the opening of the first outlet; and charged droplets of the liquid can be sprayed from the second outlet.
