Description:
A spring mounting system and a method of mounting using this system

A present invention refers to the spring mounting system intended to fast mounting in objects, particularly in walls, of elements, such as structural, decorative, usable elements, which after installation will be mainly acted on by forces parallel to a wall plane, so called shearing forces. The present invention refers also to the method of mounting of these elements, which utilises the spring mounting system according to the present invention.

Usually, for the mounting of various elements on the solid surfaces of the objects, for example on the walls, there are used nails or screws requiring driving or screwing in. It is also possible to use pins, as for example is described in a polish patent specification No. PL 202 362 B1 , with an appropriate structure, in connection with an adhesive, wall plugs also requiring screwing in the screws, as described in a polish patent specification No. PL 202 619 B3, or push-in plugs as described in a polish patent specification No. PL 190 707 B1. However, in the case of the structural, usable or decorative elements made of materials for example having a low mechanical strength, a required appropriate appearance, which can not be deteriorated after installation or having large overall dimensions and weights making difficult time-consuming installation on the objects, there is a need for a mounting system, which is fast, easy to use and provides suitable reliability and strength.

Therefore, it is an aim of the present invention to provide a device, a system and a method enabling easy and fast installation of the various elements on the solid surfaces, without necessity of using any additional tools, providing untouched appearance of the elements being mounted, while with appropriate strength of mounting, which can be performed even by persons without any special training, basic knowledge or technical skills.

Thus, the object of the present invention is a spring mounting system characterised in that it comprises a device made of springy tape, preferably metal plate, which is bent at an acute angle to form of a clasp having two arms, a shorter arm and a longer arm, wherein an end of the shorter arm is deflected outwards.

Preferably, a radius of a curvature R of a bend has a value within the range from the value corresponding to the thickness (d) of the tape to the value equal to the 50 x thickness (i.e. 50 x d) of the used tape.

Preferably, an opening, into which the device is inserted, has a diameter, which satisfies the following relationship:

- 2 + (2d) 2 < D < I0 jw 2 + (2d) 2 where

W is a width of the tape the device is made of;

d is a thickness of said tape; and

D is a diameter of the opening, into which the device is inserted.

Preferably, on the shorter arm a hook is formed, which make disassembling of the system easy by levering.

Preferably, on the shorter arm and/or on the longer arm there is formed at least one barb, which is deflected towards the wall of the opening.

Preferably, the end of the longer arm is bent and protrudes from the other end of the clasp at a distance exceeding the width of the springy tape and to this end of the longer arm an element being mounted is fastened.

The object of the present invention is also a method of mounting of the element to the object, particularly to the wall characterised in that it comprises steps, wherein

- the element being mounted is fastened by using known technique to the end of the longer arm of the device made of the springy tape, preferably of the metal plate, bent at the acute angle to form the clasp having two arms, the shorter arm and the longer arm, wherein the end of the shorter arm is deflected outwards,

- the device, into which the element being mounted was fastened is inserted into the opening formed in the object so that the shorter arm of the device is completely inserted into the opening, whereas the end of the longer arm protrudes outside said opening, holding the element being mounted fastened thereto.

Preferably, the radius of the curvature R of the bend has the value within the range from the value corresponding to the thickness (d) of the tape to the value equal to the 50 x thickness (i.e. 50 x d) of the used tape.

Preferably, the opening, into which the device is inserted, has the diameter, which satisfies the following relationship:

where

W is the width of the tape, the device is made of;

d is the thickness of said tape; and

D is the diameter of the opening, into which the device is inserted.

Alternatively, the element being mounted is fastened by using known technique to the end of the longer arm of the device once the device is inserted into the opening formed in the object.

Preferably, there is used the device, wherein the hook is formed on the shorter arm that makes disassembling of the system easy. Preferably, there is used the device, wherein at least one barb, which is deflected towards the wall of the opening is formed on the shorter arm and/or on the longer arm.

Preferably, there is used the device, wherein the end of the longer arm is bent and protrudes from the other end of the clasp at the distance exceeding the width of the springy tape and to this end of the longer arm the element being mounted is fastened.

The device according to the present invention is a single-element clasp, which is mounted in the opening, for example drilled previously in the wall built of brick made of cohesive mineral or ceramic materials, without percussion and without using any additional tools. Said device is easy to use, and the installation using it can be performed even by persons without special training, basic knowledge and technical skills.

Embodiments of the device according to the present invention are shown in the drawings, wherein:

fig. 1 illustrates a perspective view of the embodiment of the clasp according to the present invention,

fig. 2 illustrates a perspective view of another embodiment of the clasp according to the present invention,

fig. 3 illustrates a side view, a front view and a perspective view of the embodiment of the clasp according to the present invention.

The device 1 is made of the metal springy plate, and has a form of a flat tape with a width (W), which typically ranges from 2 mm to 100 mm and with a thickness (d), which typically ranges from 0.2 mm to 3 mm, that is bent at an acute angle as shown in the drawings, forming kind of a clasp. A radius of a curvature R (fig. 1 and fig. 2) of a bend is suitably selected so that dependently on the width and the thickness of the tape it is as small as possible, however, at specified strength parameters of the springy tape the device is made of, there was no breakage of the springy tape on the bend, during use. The radius of the curvature selected according to these criteria is in the range from the value corresponding to the thickness of the tape to the value equal to the 50 x thickness of the used metal tape. One end 2 of the tape is shorter and bent out towards the wall of the opening, into which the device 1 called as clasp is inserted, resulting in attaching to that wall. This end is bent such as presented in the drawings, resulting in its protruding from the other end of the clasp at a distance substantially exceeding the width of the used springy tape. Additionally, this end 2 has a protruding hook 4 that is formed in a manner presented in the figs. 1 and 2. The second end 5 of the clasp, which constitutes the fastening device 1 , is fastened using known methods to the elements being mounted. Said second end can be freely formed according to the requirements and shapes of the object being mounted and fastened by using gluing or welding techniques, and making any connections, such as twisting, riveting, screwing and other connections. The device thus constructed in the shape of the clasp is pushed into the drilled opening in the wall. The operation of pushing into can be performed by using a finger or other known tools, and the device can also be driven using percussive tools in the form of hand hammers or power hammers. The shape of the clasp causes that after pressing down the walls of the spring are fixed with a wedge in the opening, making sliding out impossible and at sufficiently deep intrusion it presses down or affixes the object being mounted to the wall. For this purpose the diameter of the opening, into which the clasp is mounted should not be less than the square root of the sum of squares of the width of the tape and the square of the double thickness of the tape, which the clasp is made of, and not greater than 10-times value calculated according called in this sentence formula, what can be mathematically written in the form of the following formula:

,jw 2 + (2d) 2 < D < 10-,/V 2 + (2d) 2 wherein

W is the width of the tape the device 1 is made of;

d is the thickness of said tape;

D is the diameter of the opening, into which the device 1 is inserted.

In the case of the need for disassembling of the fastening, the spring can be released by pulling back its arm by means of screwdriver and by pressing the hook 3. Additionally, the clasp can be provided with the barbs 6, which can be arranged at both arms of the clasp or at anyone of them, and which are deflected towards the wall of the opening, into which the clasp is to be inserted. Said barbs additionally prevent sliding the clasp from the opening, enhancing its sticking in the opening.

Example

Fig. 3 illustrates the example of the clasp made of a steel tape with the width W = 8.5 mm and the thickness d = 1.4 mm. The tape was shaped according to the following dimensions: the radius of the curvature R = 4 mm; Z1 = 10 mm; Z2 = 12 mm; 11 = 40 mm; I2 = 40 mm; I3 = 15 mm and I4 = 15 mm. Then, in the tape notches were made and it was redrawn through drawing with an eccentric press according to the known production technology. The excess of the tape was cut off by means of a cutter, and then the clasp thus made was hardened in order to obtain a maximal hardness.
