Abstract:
The invention relates to a sheet-material stacking device comprising a spiral-compartment stacker and to a method for controlling said sheet-material stacking device. The aim of the invention is to improve the removal of sheet material from the stack. To achieve this, the basis of the invention is that the stream of sheet material to be removed is acted upon in such a way that intervals or gaps are created between individual sheet-material items, said intervals or gaps being sufficient to insert each sheet-material item into one spiral compartment. In addition, the length of the spiral compartment is set to prevent problems caused by the insertion of more than one sheet-material item into a spiral compartment, in particular if the sheet material has varying dimensions. The gap between the transport path and the spiral-compartment stacker, formed by the construction of the device, is also closed, to guarantee the entry of the sheet material into the spiral compartments in each case.
