Title:
STAINLESS STEEL FOR FUEL CELL SEPARATOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/018320
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a stainless steel that is for a fuel cell separator and that has superior utility and contact resistance. The stainless steel contains no greater than 0.03% of C, no greater than 1.0% of Si, no greater than 1.0% of Mn, no greater than 0.01% of S, no greater than 0.05% of P, no greater than 0.20% of Al, no greater than 0.03% of N, and 16-40% of Cr, and contains at least one of no greater than 20% of Ni, no greater than 0.6% of Cu, and no greater than 2.5% of Mo, the remainder comprising Fe and unavoidable impurities. Also, when the surface of the stainless steel is measured by means of photoelectron spectroscopy, F is detected. Additionally, the ratio of the total concentration of Cr and Fe atoms not in a metallic form to the total concentration of Cr and Fe atoms in a metallic form calculated from the results of splitting the Cr and Fe peaks into a metal peaks and non-metal peaks is at least 3.0.
