Abstract:
Provided is a stainless steel sheet for springs, which has a chemical composition containing, in mass%, 0.1-0.4% of C, 2.0% or less of Si, 0.1-6.0% of Mn, 10.0-28.0% of Cr, and 0.17% or less of N, the remaining portion being Fe and impurities, which has a structure including, in vol%, 30% or less of a ferritic phase and 20% or less of a residual austenitic phase, the remaining portion being a martensitic single phase or a multi-phase structure comprising a martensitic phase, and which has an Si content of 2.0% or less at the sheet surface. The stainless steel sheet for springs has superior coating adhesion, and is suitable for use in automotive parts, home appliances, housings for office automation apparatuses, building materials for use in roofs and cladding, etc.
