Abstract:
A stainless steel wire provided a deformed edge area (1) having an increased thickness in comparison with the core (4) and consequently an increased resistance to corrosion in comparison with a wire without such an edge area, especially exhibiting an increased resistance with respect to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloridic media. The invention also relates to a method for the production of a wire displaying improved resistance to corrosion.
