Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to eliminate obstacles to the normal use of a stairway and mitigate the overhang of a stair lift outside of the stairway while taking advantage of being able to board and exit a standing-type stair lift while standing. A stair lift comprises two rails that are disposed along a stairway in parallel in the width direction of the stairway, a gate-type lift body that is restrained so as not to separate from the rails and that has a gate structure and is self-propelled on the rails, and a lift step plate (1) that is disposed between left and right leg structures of the gate-type lift body and that is supported by a lifting mechanism provided in the leg structures. The lift step plate (1) lands on the floor connected to the stairway or a stairway tread when the gate-type lift body is standing by on the bottom floor or the top floor of the stairway and is held in a position that does not interfere with the stairway tread when the gate-type lift body is traveling on the rails. The user boards by standing on the lift step plate (1).
