Abstract:
A stapler for ensuring the strength of an insertion-cutting blade required for penetrating
bound sheets by using the insertion-cutting blade able to be produced at a low
cost, and providing the positive penetration of a paper staple into bound sheets.
The stapler comprises a handle, a frame and a base. The frame is provided, in
the vicinity of the front end of a carrying path on which joined staples are carried, with
a driver (18) for forcing the penetration of a staple into bound sheets. Punch blades
(51a) are respectively attached to the opposite sides of a staple pressing portion
(18f) at the lower end of a driver body. The punch blade (51a) has a specified length
and is provided at one end thereof with an edge (51ae). The punch blade (51a) is
provided, in the vicinity of the edge (51ae)-provided end thereof, with a protrusion
(51ad) having an inclined surface on at least an edge (51ae) side and protruding
a specified distance. The protrusion (51ad) is formed not to span the full width
of a cutting blade (51a), and the cutting blade (51a) has a linear portion continuously
extending from one end to the other end in a longitudinal direction.
