Abstract:
A starter (10) is mounted on a vehicle (100). With this starter (10), a crank shaft (70) is driven by a motor (30) that rotates a pinion gear (62) while the pinion gear (62) is engaged with a ring gear (68) connected to the crank shaft (70). In this manner, the engine (110) is started. The starter (10) sets a start time according to the type of start factor for generating an engine (110) start request and sets the current to be supplied to the motor (30) on the basis of the set start time. In this manner, at least one of the rotational speed and the output torque of the motor (30) is controlled. This control is performed by a control circuit (41).
