Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem that load propagation from a rotation support portion of a pinion shaft was not taken into consideration as load propagation to a gear case and further suppression of noise was not achieved. A starter for starting an internal combustion engine according to the present invention is achieved by forming a center bracket such that a support portion of a bearing member for rotatably supporting a pinion shaft is integrally formed with an internal gear of a planetary gear, by providing a rubber damper on the outer periphery of the center bracket, and by housing the center bracket in the gear case such that the rubber damper can contact the gear case.
