Abstract:
A starting system which ensures a positive compression ignition by pilot oil injected from a liquid fuel injection valve for a smooth engine starting even at the starting of pilot−ignition gas engine in which a cylinder head is provided with a pilot−ignition valve−carrying pre−combustion chamber unit having a liquid fuel injection valve and a pre−combustion chamber. The position of a fuel rack (fuel regulating rod) for controlling the discharge amount of a fuel injection pump for feeding pilot oil to the liquid fuel injection valve is controlled by a control system via a rack control actuator (position control actuator). The control system measures an engine rpm from a pulse produced by an rpm sensor to set a large discharge amount of the fuel injection pump in a small engine rpm region. This ensures a positive pilot oil injection from a liquid fuel injection valve to provide a positive ignition&sol combustion of a gaseous fuel.
