Abstract:

This state identification system comprises: a cable (20) that is laid between utility poles (10) and that includes communication-use optical fibers; a reception unit (331) that receives an optical signal from at least one optical fiber included in the cable (20); and an identification unit (332) that, in accordance with a pattern in the optical signal received by the reception unit (331), identifies the state of the utility poles (10) or the state of the environment surrounding the utility poles (10).
