Abstract:
A station monitoring system and station monitoring method are provided which, while preserving analysis accuracy of videos taken of a station platform, enable reducing the network load caused by transmission. On the basis of captured video of the platform, a determination unit (82) determines whether or not a given object appears in a captured video. On the basis of the captured video and the determination results, a transmission data generation unit (84) generates transmission data indicating the determination results and a low resolution video obtained by converting the captured video to low resolution. A transmission data transmission unit (86) transmits the transmission data to a central monitoring device (10). A transmission data receiving unit (60) receives multiple sets of transmission data transmitted from different video transmission systems (12). A composite video generation unit (68) generates a composite video which is obtained by combining low-resolution videos indicated by at least one of the multiple transmission data sets, and which shows the determination results indicated by each of the multiple sets of transmission data. A display control unit (74) causes the composite video to be displayed.
