Abstract:
A stator includes a stator core and a distributed winding-type multi-phase coil. The multi-phase coil includes a plurality of unit coils each formed by winding a flat conducting wire into a plurality of turns. The unit coils are assembled into a plurality of slots of the stator core and are connected to each other to form the multi-phase coil. The unit coils each include concentrically wound outer and inner layer coils which are formed by a continuous single flat conducting wire. The winding-start end portion of the outer layer coil and the winding-end end portion of the inner layer coil become the first and second connection end portions of each of the unit coils, respectively. The first and second connection end portions are separately disposed at both ends of each of the unit coils and are disposed on the upper end surface of the stator core. The first connection end portion is disposed at a position on the inner circumferential side of the stator core, and the second connection end portion is disposed at a position on the outer circumferential side of the stator core. The first connection end portions of adjacent unit coils having the same phase are connected to each other, and the second connection end portions of adjacent unit coils are connected to each other.
