Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for steam cooking in an oven (5) comprising a heating device (56) arranged in a bottom area, using a cooking container (1) which can be placed in the oven and comprises a heat-conductive dish element (10) for receiving a liquid supply and a steam tray (30) which is arranged on the dish element and is used to receive a product to be cooked. The aim of the invention is to produce steam from the liquid supply in the dish element (10) by means of the heating device (56) arranged in the bottom area of the oven, in such a way that the steam flows around the product to be cooked on the steam tray (30) in order to steam cook said product. To this end, the dish element (10) of the cooking container comprises a holding device (18) for arranging the dish element at a distance from the bottom of the oven (5). Preferably, the dish element is designed in such a way that it divides the oven into two essentially separate spatial regions (52, 53).
