Abstract:
A steam turbine (1) is provided with a plurality of stages (ST) including stator vanes (11) and rotor vanes (13). Upstream of at least one of the stages (ST), an aperture body (35) for narrowing the passageway area of a steam passageway (P) is disposed spaced apart in an axial direction at an interval greater than or equal to the width in the axial direction of the rotor vanes (13). The aperture body (35) may be disposed on the upstream side of a stage in which the degree of superheat of steam (W) is not greater than a predetermined value, for example. The aperture body (35) may be an annular plate having a large number of holes (37), for example.
