Abstract:
 Disclosed is a steel for automotive suspension spring components that is characterized by: comprising 0.15-0.35 mass% of C, more than 0.6 mass% and at most 1.5 mass% of Si, 1-3 mass% of Mn, 0.3-0.8 mass% of Cr, 0.005-0.080 mass% of sol. Al, 0.005-0.060 mass% of Ti, 0.005-0.060 mass% of Nb, at most 150 ppm of N, at most 0.035 mass% of P, at most 0.035 mass% of S, 0.01-1.00 mass% of Cu, and 0.01-1.00 mass% of Ni, with the remainder consisting of Fe and unavoidable impurities; Ti+Nb≤0.07 mass%; having a tensile strength of at least 1300 MPa; and exhibiting superior corrosion resistance and low-temperature toughness.
