Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to enable the character of a flaw that has occurred on a steel bar to be evaluated using a plurality of pieces of flaw detection data obtained by performing flaw detection on the steel bar surface. The present invention is a surface flaw evaluation method for evaluating the character of a surface flaw on a steel bar. A correlation between the character of a surface flaw on a steel bar and features of a data pattern obtained by performing flaw detection along the surface of the steel bar is determined in advance. The character of a surface flaw on a steel bar (1) to be evaluated, which is a steel bar of which the character of a surface flaw is to be evaluated, is specified using the correlation and the features of a data pattern obtained by performing the flaw detection on the steel bar (1) to be evaluated.
