Title:
STEEL BOX CONTINUOUS BRIDGE HAVING AN ASYMMETRIC SPAN, AND METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/083908
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
Provided is a steel box continuous bridge having an asymmetric span. A steel box continuous bridge includes an asymmetric span configured with short and long spans of different span lengths. An upper flange in a negative moment section of the steel box continuous bridge forms a closed sectional area of 0.08(L1+L2)/2 to 0.16(L1+L2)/2 toward both the short span (L1) and long span (L2) sections with respect to the central point of a bridge support. The upper flange has an asymmetric closed sectional area such that the area of (0.08-0.16)L2/2 is closed in the short span (L1) section, and the area of (0.08-0.16)L1/2 is closed in the long span (L2) section. The upper flange in the negative moment section, other than the negative moment upper flange having the asymmetric closed sectional area, and the upper flange in a positive moment section form an opened sectional area to which a truss-shaped lateral bracing is attached. A lower flange in a negative moment section is made of high-strength concrete having an area of 0.16(L1+L2)/2 to 0.32(L1+L2)/2 with uniform thickness toward both the short span (L1) section and the long span section (L2) with respect to the central point of the bridge support through concrete casting. Specifically, in the lower flange in the negative moment section, high-strength concrete is cast to have an asymmetric sectional area such that the area of (0.16-0.32)L2/2 is concrete-cast in the short span (L1) section and the area of (0.16-0.32)L1/2 is concrete-cast in the long span (L2) section. A floor slab of the upper flange in the negative moment section is prestressed by means of a prestressed concrete (PC) wire. The floor slab is comprised of a precast steel-composite or concrete-fixing block to enable the PC wire to be fixed. Additional high-strength concrete casting is performed asymmetrically at both sides so as to have thin cross-sections except for the area of 0.16(L1+L2)/2 to 0.32(L1+L2)/2 toward both the short span (L1) section and the long span section (L2) with respect to the central point of the bridge support of the lower flange in the negative moment section.
