Abstract:
Provided is a steel cord for reinforcing a rubber article the cord strength of which to the total strength of filaments constituting the cord does not easily decrease and that has high rubber impregnation ability for a double twisted steel cord. A steel cord for reinforcing a rubber article has a double twisted structure wherein a plurality of strands, each of which is obtained by intertwining a plurality of filaments in two or more layers, are intertwined. At least some of the filaments have a tensile strength of 3000 MPa or greater. A filament space factor of 48% or greater and less than 54%, a cord twisting angle of 78° or greater and less than 84°, an average value for a crossing angle for adjacent filaments other than wrapping filaments of less than 17°, and a space between adjacent sheath filaments constituting the strand of 0.065 mm or greater are satisfied.
