Abstract:
A steel cord especially useful for reinforcing the crown part of a tire, a steel
cord being free from conventional production problems and capable of being produced
with a constant quality and good efficiency, a rubber-steel cord composite and
a tire using this. The steel cord which has a multiple-twist structure consisting
of twisted N (N=2-8) strands (2) each formed by twisting a plurality of wires (1),
and in which εc, defined by εc = √(-b/2+√(b2
/4-c))-1 (in the expression, b; -1+π2(-4R2+d2)/P2,
c; π2 d2k(4π2 R2+P2)/P4,
R; (D-d)/2, k; tan2(π/2-π/N)) when the diameter of the
strand is d (mm), the diameter of circumscribing circle of the cord D (mm), and
the twisting pitch of the cord P (mm), satisfies εc≥0.005.
