Abstract:
A steel fender, comprising a first steel fender (3) provided at a dock (1), and a second steel fender (4) provided on an outer hull plate (21). The first steel fender (3) and the second steel fender (4) have corresponding positions, and can selectively abut each other. The first steel fender (3) has a thickness of L1. The second steel fender (4) has a thickness of L2. A rubber fender (5) provided at the dock (1) has an operational thickness of L3. The following relationships hold for the thickness L1 of the first steel fender (3), the thickness L2 of the second steel fender (4), and the operational thickness L3 of the rubber fender (5): L1 + L2 > L3, and L1 < L3. By correspondingly providing the first steel fender (3) and the second steel fender (4) at the dock (1) and the outer hull plate (21), respectively, the present invention provides cushioning for a semi-submersible boat and prevents collision between the semi-submersible boat and the dock (1) when the semi-submersible boat is being moored. In addition, the thickness of the first steel fender (3) provided at the dock (1) is less than the operational thickness of the rubber fender (5), thus enabling the rubber fender (5) to be utilized for mooring of other boats or ships without collision occurring with the first steel fender (3).
