Title:
STEEL FOR FORGING, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND FORGED ARTICLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/148475
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A steel for forging which is for obtaining a forged article with excellent fatigue properties and in which inclusions have been reduced in size; and a useful process for producing the steel for forging. Also provided is a forged article (especially, solid type crankshaft) obtained from the steel for forging. It can have satisfactory fatigue properties and the inclusions therein have been reduced in size. The steel for forging is characterized in that the concentration of magnesium in solution in the steel is 0.04-5 ppm and that of aluminum in solution in the steel is 50-500 ppm.
