Abstract:
This steel for a high-strength bolt contains 0.50-0.65 mass% of carbon, 1.5-2.5 mass% of silicon, not less than 1.0 mass% of chromium, not more than 0.4 mass% of manganese, greater than 1.5 mass% of molybdenum, and not more than 0.03 mass% in total of phosphor and sulfur, with the balance being iron and inevitable impurities. The high-strength bolt is formed using the steel for a high-strength bolt which contains 0.50-0.65 mass% of carbon, 1.5-2.5 mass% of silicon, not less than 1.0 mass% of chromium, not more than 0.4 mass% of manganese, greater than 1.5 mass% of molybdenum, and not more than 0.03 mass% in total of phosphor and sulfur, with the balance being iron and inevitable impurities.
