Abstract:
A steel material for manufacturing a bearing, comprising by weight 1.22-1.6% of carbon, 0.5-2% of chromium, 4-8% of aluminum, 0.1-1.5% of manganese and less than or equal to 0.7% of silicon, the remainder comprising iron and impurities. The heat treatment first involves a martensite transformation and a bainite transformation, and then cooling to room temperature such that the formed part or bearing after heat treatment contains greater quantities of martensite and of austenite residue.
