Abstract:
Disclosed is a steel pipe connection structure wherein a first steel pipe and a second steel pipe are connected together longitudinally in such a way that shear protrusions and load transmission keys are inserted for engagement purposes between these steel pipes. A protrusion extending toward the second steel pipe is provided to the first steel pipe, and a recess for inserting the aforementioned protrusion is formed in the second steel pipe. In a connection section where a side surface and the bottom surface of the aforementioned recess are connected together, there is a portion where a bending force is caused due to out-of-plane deformation of the protrusion when a tensile load acts between the first steel pipe and the second steel pipe. This portion is provided with a stress alleviation shape section consisting of either a curved surface or a flat surface, or a combination of both, the aforementioned flat surface intersecting with an adjoining flat surface at an obtuse angle.
