Abstract:
A steel product having a structure comprised mainly of a hard phase and being excellent in characteristics of the resistance to fatigue crack extension, wherein it has a structure comprised mainly of ferrite/beinite, and the X-ray diffraction strength pattern thereof from the (110) plane exhibits a peak width at half height of 0.13 degree or more, and wherein it has a chemical composition that C: 0.01 to 0.10 %, Si: 0.03 to 0.6 %, Mn: 0.5 to 2.0 %, sol.Al: 0.005 to 0.10 %, N: 0.0005 to 0.008 % and Ft (3Mn + Cu + 1.5Cr + 1.8Ni + 1.5Mo): 4.0 to 6.0 %, or a chemical composition that B: 0.0030 % or less, Ft: 3.5 to 5.5 % and optionally further contains one or more of Cu, Ni, Cr and Mo; and a method for producing the above steel product which comprises hot rolling and then subjecting the hot-rolled product to a quenching treatment.
