Abstract:
An aspect of the present invention is a steel sheet for hardening characterized in satisfying a prescribed component composition and in the Mn concentration satisfying expression (1).

[Mn]: Mn concentration (mass%) of the steel sheet analyzed by inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy
S1: In the structure of the steel sheet at the ¼ sheet thickness position, the area% of regions in which the Mn concentration, as analyzed by an electron microprobe analyzer, is at least 2 times [Mn]
S2: In the structure of the steel sheet at the ¼ sheet thickness position, the area% of regions in which the Mn concentration, as analyzed by an electron microprobe analyzer, is not more than 0.5 times [Mn]
