Abstract:
The present invention provides a thick steel sheet having a high strength and excellent multi-layer welded joint CTOD characteristics even when the sheet thickness is over 100 mm. The steel sheet has a prescribed component composition. At the center part with respect to the sheet thickness, the average effective crystal grain size is 20 μm or less and the maximum effective crystal grain size is 150 μm or less. At the 1/2 position of the sheet thickness, the number of composite inclusions containing an Al-containing oxide and a Ca- and Mn-containing sulfide and having a circle equivalent diameter of 0.1 μm or more is in the range of 25-250 per 1 mm2.
