Abstract:
Provided is a steering apparatus that is designed to be capable of adapting to lateral movement, small turns, and the like without the use of complex mechanisms, and that when doing so performs steering angle control in a stable manner. This steering apparatus has a pair of rack bars (53, 54) connected respectively to front or rear left and right vehicle wheels (w), a synchronous gear (55) provided between the pair of rack bars (53, 54), a synchronous gear box (66) for holding the synchronous gear (55), a rack case (50) secured to the synchronous gear box (66) and to a frame side of the vehicle, and a securing mechanism (67) for securing the synchronous gear box (66) to the rack case (50).
