Abstract:
This steering-column device is provided with a pair of suspension shafts that couple a first plate that is part of a fixed bracket to a second plate that is part of a movable bracket, thereby suspending a movable jacket via the movable bracket. A pair of elongated first holes through which the pair of suspension shafts are inserted are formed in the first plate. A coupling/separation mechanism that, in a secondary collision, makes the second plate separate from a given part of the first plate in a column-movement direction contains a resin pin between the pair of first holes in a direction (Y1) that is perpendicular to the column-movement direction.
