Abstract:
[Problem] To achieve satisfactory outer column machining characteristics, and to achieve a structure of which the strength can easily be ensured. A detachable bracket 12 is disposed inside a slit 19 in an outer column 16, and is fixedly supported with respect to an inner column 15. A support bracket 13 is joined to the detachable bracket 12 in such a way as to be capable of separating therefrom in response to an impact load applied to the inner column 15 when a secondary collision occurs, and supports a telescopic friction plate 11 in such a way as to allow displacement in a width direction.
