Abstract:

A steering column device (1) comprises: a lower tube (22) which is attached to a vehicle body so as to be swingable in the vertical direction; a column shaft (2) to which a steering wheel (7) has been attached; an upper tube (21) which supports the column shaft (2) in a rotatable manner and which is attached to the lower tube (22) so as to be movable in the front-rear direction; a motor (41) which generates motor torque; a link mechanism (50) via which the lower tube (22) and the upper tube (21) are interlockably connected; and a power transmission mechanism (42) which operates so as to transmit the motor torque to the link mechanism (50). When the motor torque is transmitted to the link mechanism (50) by the power transmission mechanism (42), the link mechanism (50) operates so as to interlock the swinging of the lower tube (22) in the vertical direction and the movement of the upper tube (21) in the front-rear direction.
